Nowitzki: I had some grudges with Wade, but those have passed.

Dirk said: “Obviously, something happened between us, but in the end he was one of the greatest players in history, and it was an honor to join him in the Hall of Fame.”
Nowitzki and Wade played against each other twice in the finals. The first time was 2006, and finally the Heat won the championship. The second time was 2011, and the last laugh was the Lone Ranger (called Mavericks at that time).
“We once had dinner with our family and talked a lot.” Dirk said. “So it was a great experience, and now we have only respect for each other.”
“I know there have been some grudges between us, but in the end, not every player who has competed with you at the highest level can become your friend. This is NBA.”
“I think each of us has said something that the other side doesn’t like, but do you know? It feels like it was 20 years ago, so we really have no problem now. I will have an interesting week with him.”
