Gary Peyton was born on July 23, 1968in Oakland, California, USA. In the 1990 NBA draft, Gary Peyton was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics (now Oklahoma City Thunder) in the 2nd round of the first round. He once played for the SuperSonics in his career, in Bucks team, the Lakers, the Celtics and the Heat won the NBA championship with the Heat in 2006. Peyton was selected as NBA All-Star team nine times in his career and the best team in NBA nine times (two times, five times, two times, two times, three times). He was selected as the best defensive team in the league nine times in a row. In the 1995-96 season, Peyton won the NBA Defensive Player of the year and the snatch King, becoming the first point guard elected as the best defensive player in NBA history. In 2013, Peyton was selected into the NAI Smith Basketball Hall of Fame. In October 2021, Peyton was selected as the NBA75 superstar.
Peyton career played 1335 games, scored 21813 points, averaged 16.3 points 3.9 rebounds 6.7 assists 1.8 steals, field goal percentage 46.6%, three point hit rate 31.7%, free throw hit rate 72.9%.
Gary Peyton’s son Peyton is now playing for the Warriors. Little Peyton won the championship with the Warriors in the 2021-22 season.
