Live Bar, August 4th recently, Jerry Stackhouse, a former NBA player and manager of Vanderbilt University, talked about former teammate Jordan in Arenas’s program.
Stackhouse said: “in his eyes, he is still the greatest player, but I didn’t think so at that time. I am ready to go further. I am ready to be a leader. He can become a supporter more.
“There is an interesting story. We are reading the Scout Report. Jordan always thinks that the best defender of the other side will guard against him. We were going to play Spurs at that time. He automatically thought Bruce Bowen was going to defend him. After jump ball, Bowen was next to me. It’s nobody’s fault. If I did what Jordan did and I had his achievements, I would feel Bowen should defend me.”
Jerry Stackhouse is the only teammate Michael Jordan has scored higher than him in a single season. In the 2002-03 season, Stackhouse and Jordan worked as teammates in Wizards for one year, when Jordan was 40 years old. Jordan played 82 regular season matches that season, with 20 points per game and 21.5 points per Stackhouse.
