Live broadcast on August 5th today, Rubio issued a statement saying that he would suspend basketball because of his mental health problems. The Spanish basketball association expressed support and understanding for Rubio’s decision.
The statement wrote: “I decided to stop my basketball professional activities to take care of my mental health. I would like to thank the Spanish basketball association for all its support and understanding of my decision. Today is more meaningful than ever. Thank you. I will ask for respect for my privacy so that I can face these moments and provide more information when needed.”
Rubio suffered a ACL injury in the 21-22 season. During the offseason, he returned to the knight with a contract of 3 years and 18.4 million dollars. In the regular season of the 22-23 season, Rubio played 33 games for the Cavaliers, with an average of 5.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 17.2 minutes.
The 2023 men’s basketball World Cup will be kicked off at the end of August this year. In this World Cup, Spain, Iran, Ivory Coast and Brazil were divided into group G together.
